The Facilities Rosemoore is a well known horse stud in Ireland. It's facilities spread out over almost 800 acres. This world renowned facility is the best racing facility on offer almost anywhere in the United Kingdom.
Rosemoore Family Household and Office
Irish grandeur at it's finest, the Rosemoore Family home and Office has been in the family for generations. This massive building is all stone from the outside and inside, is just as grand. The walls are hung with ribbons, trophies and photos of past Rosemoore winners in both racing and English disciplines. The office is on the ground floor, the first door on the right in the right wing and consist for three sections: breeding, racing and sales. The Rosemoore family live upstairs in the smaller living compartment and it is not very often that people are invited up.
Dormitories
The dormitories are in the left wing of the Rosemoore Estate building. This area can house up to 35 people and does so on regular occasions. It consists of the private rooms which have their own showers and bathrooms and the communal dormitories which house three people. There is also a communal living area, kitchen and bathroom in this wing of the home.
Barn Complexes
Built in a long row besides one another, the barn complexes at Rosemoore spare no expense in their facilities. Each one is heated and cooled during the seasons to ensure maximum comfort. With twelve lavish stalls each no horse goes uncomfortable here. Even complete with glass windows, six of the stalls lead directly out into the small grassed area outside, often where the horses are shown on the stables open day.
Medical Complex
By far the biggest individual barn on the complex, the dull exterior is fitted with the latest equipment and run by very professional vetrinarians who all specialise in equine physiology. The smaller and longer part of this building houses the more serious cases who cannot return to their stable as they need constant medical attention.
Training Facilities Arena
Inside this facility accomodates the classical training of the English discipline that is also encouraged at Rosemoore. On open days it acts as a show ring as well for potential buyers and breeders to evaluate each horse on offer.
Training Oval
The main part of the Rosemoore facility the training oval is a massive track, covering over 12 acres of flattened moore land and divided in to smaller and longer sections. It also comes complete with scales for the training jockey's to get used to carrying weights. Many champions have been trained on this well worn track.
Paddocks
On the edge of the Irish highlands, the paddocks are large, ranging fro 3 to 6 acres each. Many of the champion racers have their own or small group paddock. Each paddock is separated by stone fencing and all are only about a 5 minute walk from the main barns. During the winter there is restricted access to these paddocks as it can get very cold, however the rest of the year, all horses are turned out by 6am and will not be brought in until after 2pm
The Highland Trails
All Rosemoore horses and riders know and enjoy the Highlands of Ireland. This is why the Stud and racing facility offers over 300 acres of Irish highlands and trails pick-pocketing each one. Whilst all trails are accessible to the public, there are a select few used for training purposes only in thoroughbreds competing in cross country. The flatter highland moores are good places to just let any horse have his head.
